Old news, but still sad!
Okay this all happened a while ago now, and I forgot to post about it... but here it is:

Sad news from Local Act Comics!

"Wtf?", I hear you say...
Well tragically, after years of being amazing and super pro-active in the Australian comic book world, helping out billions of starving Australians who wanted to be comic book creators, Local Act Comics has closed its doors. We all understand that the decision was difficult, but necessary, as Mr Dave Cunning (the man who did everything for all of us) is growing a family at the moment.

Have you thought about self-publishing? It's not too hard.

Oh noes! I don't think they're in Minotaur any more... I'm sure I can arrange one for you though :>

I thought about it a tiny bit, but I have no idea how to even go about it. Is it expensive? How do you do yours?

I don't know T_T it's pretty sad. You hold on to those comics tight mister, they'll be worth billions!
...Although as someone said, I might think about self-publishing.....

I didn't read the full story, but I wonder: if his reason for shutting down is that he's starting a family, there's a chance that in two or three years, once he's accustomed to being a "Dad", he'll find he has time to start up the publishing business again. Wait a suitable interval, (maybe a few months after the first kid arrives), and pester him about it if you can.

There's no charge for my professional advice. :)

Hehehe true that! Yeah he may want to do it again later... who knows, though. It's a pretty big responsibility, and in Australia you don't really make any money from it, so this was just a hobbie for him. I'm sure I'll still see him at the comic book nerd meet-ups (if I ever find time to go again!) so I'll keep you posted! :>
